First Presbyterian is pleased to offer several convenient giving methods.
1. Give Online -
This safe and flexible option is the easiest way to give. This method allows you to schedule recocurring or one-time gifts charged to your debit or credit card.
2. Give on Sunday -
Just place you cash or check payable to First Presbyterian Church in an envelope in the pew and place it in the plate as it is passes.
If you would like offering envelopes, contact our office.
3. Automatic Bank Pay -
This is an easy and effective way to systematically give through your checking account. Sign up for ACH or Bill Pay at your bank and let our office do the rest.
4. Memorials -
If you are interested in giving any amount as a memorial in someone else's name, you can give in any of the three above methods but put the name of the person in memoriam.
About Required Minimum Distributions and your giving
If you are of retirement age, many people must start withdrawing a minimum amount from certain retirement accounts like traditional IRAs. The government wants you to pay taxes on that money. However, you are allowed to give part of that distribution to a Qualified Charitable Distribution or QCD. If you transfer some of that money to a QCD, it can reduce your taxable income. Our church, being a QCD, can benefit from that money and you save taxes. If you wish to donate in this way, talk to your Financial Planner and let the church office know of your plans.
