Pastor Search Status

The Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) holds weekly meetings to evaluate candidate profiles provided by the Church Leadership Connection (CLC). Each file includes information on education, professional experience, and personal reflections about ministry. Committee members independently assess each applicant using established criteria. Following group discussions, the committee reaches a consensus on whether to proceed with a candidate and invite them to apply for the Head Pastor position. The CLC then informs those selected candidates of our interest and encourages them to apply.

Most candidates have opted not to apply; however, when an individual expresses interest, their comprehensive Personal Discernment Profile (PDP) is shared with the PNC team. At this stage, the candidate’s name and contact details are disclosed, along with their Statement of Faith, references, and links to relevant materials such as sermons, publications, and blogs. Upon receipt of a candidate's PDP, the committee initiates a thorough review process. The subsequent decision focuses on whether to proceed with interview phases for the candidate.

Some candidates files come to us through self-referral.  These may come through the CLC system or independently as prospects hear of our open position from the presbytery website or other sources.

At present, the PNC has started early discussions with some candidates. It's a thrilling stage where anonymous files turn into real people, allowing us to connect face-to-face via technology and have meaningful conversations about our church and their potential role within it.

The selection process will continue until we find the candidate we believe God is guiding us toward. Throughout this period of discernment, the PNC asks for three things:

  • Pray: Seek God's guidance to send the right leader for our dedicated congregation.

  • Trust: Have faith that God will respond to our prayers when we place our trust in Him.

  • Patience: Allow God to answer our prayers in His own time.
